Storm chasing: day 2

Well it was another long day on the road. We headed south back
into Texas where the Vortex2 team was - this is a group of about
100 scientists hoping to intercept tornadoes this year with loads
of equipment to take measurements for research. They'd started
leaving, but we did see a bit of kit. And also this guy who has
built an armoured car to drive INTO tornadoes and make an Imax
film...
Then after a bit of waiting, we headed back towards Dallas.
Towards late afternoon we caught up with a big storm developing.
It was the biggest by far in the region, so we were lucky to be
right by it. Again it showed signs that it could drop a tornado,
but in the end it didn't. However, it did look really good as the
sun set on it.
And then it was back to the motel in Dallas of the first night!
About 400 miles done. Not enough time to upload photos for now.
