Late afternoon yesterday, Georgia drove me to the Heights (an area north of the downtown) to view a house which sounded good on paper and looked absolutely AMAZING inside (it's brand new)... Of course it was too good to be true... The 'outside' space turned out to be a tiny tiny courtyard which looked absolutely rubbish and housed the air-conditioning unit, and the house was too close to the freeway (you could hear it from the front bedroom). Anyway, this is what it looked like from the outside:
And this is the outdoor space... as you can see, it's rubbish! And it's also the view from the kitchen...
The street looked like this - the Heights is a very old district with little streets, trees, old wooden houses and brand new constructions in the Victorian style. It is an area that used to be not so good but is on the up at present, with lots of new constructions going up.

I think that you will really br out and about now !
You take care.
Hello Maylis !
J'adore lire tes aventures américaines !! J'aime bien le fait de pouvoir suivre vos péribles et de visiter les maisons également ;)

The new car looks good and I'm sure you'll enjoy it and will soon get used to those roads & big wide freeways. The house - well, what a disappointment - amazing on the outside & rubbish at the back. It's what people in the north of England would call "All fur coat and no knickers"!! Shame - but you'll get there - it's still early days.
