Ike update - it's getting serious now!

So, the news is now that Ike is heading straight for Houston! The coastal areas are being evacuated, but we are much further inland, so no evacuation order for us. The signs on the freeways are flashing with hurricane warnings, we are expecting very strong winds (100mph) and a foot (30cm) of rain, starting during the night of Friday to Saturday. Offices are closed until Monday (H's office closed at midday today), as well as most businesses. We have filled up our gas tanks, we have bottled water and food. H may put his car in his office's garage (which is a multi-storey), to make sure it doesn't get damaged by possible rising water in ours. We're ready and kind of looking forward to it, which is odd, I know...
